FastContacts solves this problem for you. FastContacts is a clever little app that allows you to organize/list your contact list in multiple ways:
* Events last month – list all the birthdays and anniversaries that you missed last month!
* Events this month – list all the birthdays and anniversaries this month!
* Events next month – list all the birthdays and anniversaries coming up next month!
* Work contacts organized by Department – list all your work contacts arranged by department
* Friends organized by City/State – if you are visiting San Francisco, list all the buddies who live in San Francisco (PS: don’t miss the drive down highway 1)
* In addition, you can list/organize your contacts using the Last Name, Company, Job Title, State and Country fields.

FastContacts uses information from your Contacts application (i.e. Address Book) on your device to organize/list contacts. For example, when you organize your contacts by "Events this month", FastContacts uses the date field information (any date field such as birthday or anniversary that is stored for a contact) to organize and display the contact list. FastContacts works best when you keep your Contacts list updated with information such as Address, Birthday, Anniversary, Company, Department, Job Title, etc.
