Based on the framework called Chat Core* (part of the Colloquy project) Rooms provides you easy access to every IRC** network all over the world. It has all needed functionality for basic chatting, but more and more features are planned to be added soon. Just take a look at current feature list or the video/screenshots and you’ll notice that “basic” may be the wrong word…

The screencast & the screenshot gallery on my website will also give you a short overview!

Features:

• Chat with others in chatrooms or just tap someones nickname to go to private chat
• Start your own chatroom by joining an empty room and invite others
• Add chatrooms to your favorites - so you can easily access them again next time
• Use your fingers to slide through the current open chatrooms just like the homescreen or doubletap the pagecontrol below the chat to switch to any room directly

• Visit links from the chat directly without leaving Rooms
• Manage your own servers or simply retrieve some example servers from the internet
• Manage default rooms for your server to join every time you restart the application
• Rooms also saves all current open chatrooms - including temporary joined rooms - when pushing the sleep button and rejoins them when waking up again (in addition you can enable the chatlog to remember the latest conversations)
• Temporarily disable the sleep timer which would otherwise put the device to sleep after some minutes
• You may even disable the autocorrection feature with one click if you like
